Gonski will be released today, two months after Minister Garrett recieved the final report. The Govt will also reveal its response to the report.

We have had sneak peeks, no school will lose funding. What have had News Ltd turd polishing, can you guarantee private school fees will not rise.

Get prepared for Hit List  – which media moron will coin the term first?

Final report here.

  1. Rua,

The media are a pack of jackalls so I would expect a pack release of opinion all anti whatever the Government’s response.

Having said that though, I read or heard somewhere that the government are looking at putting a $price on the head of each Australian child and that will help even out the funding issue.

  2. Morning

Did not take long for the Rudd fan club to appear over at the other place.

  3. Morning Victoria,

And they’re firing on all cylinders.   And it seems there’s an anti-bemused campaign on as well.

  4. Bemused is a cyber bully

  5. janice

They are doing their level best to talk up their traitor. Cant believe they think Rudd is onto a winner here

  6. Vic, Rudd is’t winning here. On Faine the callers are turning against him in droves, and they are showing strong support for the Prime Minister

  7. Mick

That is very encouraging, but as I said at the other place. Victoria is Gillard’s strongest state. Sadly She is struggling elsewhere.

  8. Btw what have callers said in a nutshell?

  9. Vic that Rudd is a destabiliser

  10. Mick

Thanks. Sums it up. I reckon if Rudd knows what is good for Rudd, he will come back with his tail between his legs and beg for forgiveness from the party for his treacherous behaviour

  11. I would like this leadership tension to stop, so the Government can get on with what they do best, that is governing the country.

  12. Thanks for the heads up victoria…still getting used to the site :)

Here’s a very amusing parody of THAT video….

Mick….I’ve brought the cyber-bullying by bemused to the attention of WB. Don’t think he’ll act on it though. I feel so much more relaxed now that I’m away from that environment….

  13. markjs

I am still posting on tne site. There are a lot of good people on there. But do agree that it has been a little toxic. But I am certain other blogs are even worse.

Anyhow I am out for a while. Catch you guys later

It’s getting mighty ugly now. RT @sspencer_63: Rudd’s hit back at Crean from Mexico, and put the onus on the PM to settle it.

Hv just watched snippets from Rudd interview in Mexico. Not quite as inflammatory as reported, in my humble opinion, but still interesting

There has been a bit of backfirng going on.

  20. I see Shanahan has pushed out the timeline to the next 3 sitting weeks. Tosser.

Julia Gillard is doing exactly the same thing John Howard did to Costello.

  21. ruawake

I posted this on PB. How do you see it?

Rudd is a gutless wonder. His disloyalty has been exposed. He cant challenge. He will lose badly and go to the back bench. He does not want to lose the job he loves, which is travelling the globe mixing it up with diplomats.

He will never be PM again. JG may down the track step down for someone else, but it will not be Rudd. That ship has sailed. Also, I would add it is more likey for JG to step aside, if Abbott is replaced.

  22. Rudd wants to be PM, most politicians do. He is one of the fortunate few who made it to the top.

He forgot the golden rule of politics, how to count. If he had tried to topple Gillard on a policy differences he may have done marginally better, but this stuff leaves him looking like an ambitious idiot.

His only hope of survival  is that nobody else really wants FA.

  23. ruawake

I reckon they may be a few MPS that would gladly take FA

  24. Rua,

Laurie Oakes on Nine news showed this clip from Naked Gun to describe Gillard’s press conference today.

Must watch that film again one of these days

  27. “We talked about a range of things, including the possibility of him coming back to the prime ministership,” Mr Wilkie told Sky News. “There will be a challenge. I must confess for a while I thought it was just media mischief right up until I had a 90-minute meeting with Kevin Rudd.”

    or

A spokeswoman for Mr Rudd said he and Mr Wilkie did meet late last year but said Mr Wilkie raised the leadership issue “late in the conversation”.”At no point did Mr Rudd indicate he was seeking the leadership nor request support for it,” the spokeswoman said.Mr Wilkie released a statement this afternoon agreeing with Mr Rudd’s account.”Mr Rudd and I discussed the leadership in generalities only,” he said.

“At no stage did Mr Rudd ask for my support on the floor of the Parliament or did I offer my support. Nor did Mr Rudd take the opportunity to criticise the Prime Minister.”

Will that liar Wilkie now resign his seat in disgrace?

  29. ruawake

I suspect Wilkie has retreated because as it turns out Rudd was running a counter campaign against pokie reforms with the nervous nellies in the party. Wilkie saw the backlash to Rudd’s supposed disloyalty and thought that things were about to implode. He wants to retain his own seat for as long as possible. There is nothing like a vested interest to put you in line.

  30. Wilkie is backtracking as fast as he can.  When he discovered Rudd was running against his pokie reforms he realised he’d been well and truely conned.  Serves him right since he’s been using the media to threaten the government at every turn to get his own way.  A mongrel of the first order.

  31. Remember Dennis Shanahan has said there will definitely be a challenge in the next 3 sitting weeks.

    I will –

  32. School principals in the Petrie electorate will be invited to attend round-table meetings in the next two weeks to discuss a review of school funding released today, that showed a decline in education standards.

The review revealed current arrangements are failing to get the best results for students, are too complicated and lack transparency.

Federal Member for Petrie Yvette D’Ath said the comprehensive report, which was more than 300 pages long, was the first comprehensive report into funding since 1973.

“I want to make sure there is local input and I intend to meet with principals from the 36 Petrie schools in the next fortnight,” Ms D’Ath said.

“I also encourage teachers, parents, principals and anyone with an interest in education to look at the report and contact me if there is anything they want to discuss.”

Ms D’Ath said the report outlined the importance of providing funding on a needs basis and said some schools were underfunded in some areas.

“There is so much work to be done and we need to work out what will work,” she said.

“It’s got to be a funding system that will last for decades.”

What Govt backbenchers should all be doing.  NB Cheeseman. you goose.

  33. I get the vibes that this Rudd hurricane event hasn’t been all bad for Gillard and her government.  The LOTO and his henchmen have been well sidelined and all attention focused on the government.  In chasing the Ruddstoration meme, msn haven’t been able to leave out Rudds whiteanting, especially when Simon Crean has not minced words.  I think someone in Labor’s team has at last chosen an attack dog and let him run free.

    Gotta go out

    But

Gillard supporters have to realise that the public are not keen on her. Fair or unfair does not matter. Her position is now not  recoverable.

Every caucus member knows this.  They are all now just jockeying for the best spot for their preferred candidate.

    Rudd Shorten Smith Crean

OK.  Cut the rest of the blather.

Shorten and Crean supporters want a ballot NOW.  They assume Rudd will lose, Gillard will continue to stumble and then in August/September there will be a new ballot which Shorten will win.

Crean would prefer the ballot a little later in the hope that polls are so bad Shorten will not risk it and HE gets selected as a “save the furniture” candidate.

Smith probably does not want a ballot in the hope he gets drafted as a nice peace maker in a few months

Rudd does not want a ballot right now preferring to wait until August.  However he may be pushed into one now.

OK Kiddies.  Get the drift. This is politics not an afternoon tea session.

Not sure why you bother coming to a polling site since you seem to have no interest whatever in polling or what it says.

Essential is showing a 2% decline in PV and that was BEFORE the weekend.

Get it!!! A two week average says a 1% drop which means 2% in the week,. Understand?? – OK there IS a MOE which may mean it is not valid but guess we can wait to see what other polls do. However of face value it is  BLOODY AWFUL poll

  37. OK Kiddies. Get the drift. This is politics not an afternoon tea session.

So crap in nappies reckons all these potential leaders are queuing up to lead Labor to an election loss? Are they all masochists or is dared to think crazy?

I replied to DTT wtte that their posts are good for a belly laugh

  39. Do we have to be exposed to DTT’s masturbatory pronouncements here…..he/she one of reasons I’ve come here, so don’t want to read his/her sh*te :(

  40. PS: Not telling peeps what to post rua…just a plea from the heart from someone tired of Libtard drivel…. ;)

  41. markjs

DTT posts are so ridiculous they are funny!!

  42. Frank Calabrese

My say is trying to log in and she cannot get through. Any reason why?

  43. Victoria,

I have come to the conclusion DTT lives in a parallel universe.  She forms her opinions on the crap she reads in the OO, Peter Hartcher, Grattan et al, and dismisses the sane articles from Gittens and Megalogenis.  She swears she is a Labor voter, is a Rudd admirer yet she hasn’t a good thing to say about Labor, its policies or its achievements in government.  I would be very surprised if she ever voted Labor in her life.

On a different, probably unimportant topic to everyone else but me, I gave in to concern for my little old dog and took her to the vet today.  Came home $75 poorer and none the wiser, so have to settle for the conclusion that, like me, she has just grown too old.  If she could talk she would probably tell me that old age sucks and she aint too happy about it :)

  44. janice

I do not take any posts by DTT seriously. Whatever she advocates i know the opposite to be true.

Glad there is nothing wrong with your dog. I guess getting older sucks, but the alternative can suck even more!!!

The usual suspects are carrying on at PB about changing leaders and that is the only thing that is going to save Labor.

  45. Janice

Btw did you see vision of Rudd responding to the leadership issue at his overseas conference?

She needs to create a seperate account for here

  47. The “usual suspects” look at the forest and only sees one tree.  Then there are those who put themselves through the msn wringer of speculation and fail to do a bit of lateral thinking.  I find that it is unwise to take any proffered opinions at face value because when it is all boiled down there are very few outside the loop who actually know the whole truth.

  48. Yes, I did see Rudd responding.  I think Crean has hit him where it hurts, Wilkie added a blow or two and now he’s putting on the face of sweet innocence in preparation for his homecoming when he bloody well knows he’s going to have to put up or shut up.

  49. Frank Calabrese

Thanks. I have told my say
