Final Call: PM Gillard 77 Rudd 25
No bull, no guessing – we are the Dolphins – The Finnigans (The beautiful photos were done by @GeorgeBludger) - Michelle Rowland will not vote tomorrow, so the total will be: 102, not 103.
Our final count of the publicly declared support: PM Gillard 61 Rudd 19 with 22 Known Unknown. The question is how will the Unknowns break. Sportsbet is reporting the odds of PM Gillard $1.11 Rudd $6.25. Based on that we took the conservative approach and say the Unknowns will be break 70:30 to PM Gillard’s favour. This will give PM Gillard additional 16 votes to 77 and Rudd 6 votes to 25. That is our final call: 77 to 25

[Asked how the numbers were looking ahead of the spill, he said: "I think we're doing OK. It's always tough when you're up against the combined factional forces of all the factions.]
Is this man for real? Wouldn’t the fact that theres cross factional disdain for you tell you something?
Yep, Welcome Dave – good to see an increase in the true political folk joining us while the toddlers continue playtime with their Kindy Teacher named
welcome dave
Creans been good. Didn’t let Tool shut him down. Needs to be more of this . It lets the public know that JG wasn’t conniving and it also is a cathartic time for Govt. Let them get it out of the system and they will be so much better for it.
my say
All good.
I was a strong Rudd supporter. Met him twice.
Upset when he was removed. Started having doubts a few months after that as he played silly buggers but still gave him the benefit of the doubt.
I have grown to admire Julia Gillard more each day and believe she is the future of the party. Have had a growing doubt over Mr Rudd the last few weeks and now, looking back over the last few months in the context of what has happened this week and what has been revealed, I no longer hold any regard for him at all.
And i am a Queenslander.
BTW my dear 88 year old mum is furious with him. We live in his electorate actually. She will vote green next election she reckons rather than vote for him. My dad was a life member of the CFMEU so Mum goes way back.
I have no argument to put to her in his defence.
Ta muchly folks.
What the hell happened to Rudd? After he lost the PMship he was made FM, had a good job, he could have worked towards an UN role or something, but no, he he gets into some Rambo revenge fantasy where he is going to get back into The Lodge by people-power.
I think both Rudd and Abbott have exactly the same problem, testosterone poisoning.
rnm1953
Did Toolman let Crean talk? My mum was telling me today about the interview last night Stephen Smith and Tony Jones. She said Tony Jones was absolutely disgusting towards Smith.
It has been interesting to see my own parents’ response to Rudd’s actions. Mum said today that she cried when Rudd got the boot. Now she wishes he and Tony Abbott leave the face of the earth!!
Dad reckons that Rudd is missing something upstairs because he wont take a hint that the party dont want him.
@ThefinnigansOur latest “confirmed” count is PM 61 Rudd 17, see: bit.ly/zIqBQp - + 25. If it breaks normal: PM 76 Rudd 27 (max) – A slaughter
labor are rooted in qld. for a decade
Puffy
My mum said today that Rudd and Abbott have been giving Julia hell. Both want her position and that is all there is to it. They will do anything to get it.
she understands Abbott’s vitriiol as he is from the opposing party, but what Rudd has done is unforgivable.
Mind you she started to have her doubts when he appeared on that Qanda episode last year. She did like his manner, body language etc. She said that he was speaking with a forked tongue. Boy was he ever!!!
Oops did not like…..
I think it’s about time that all this”knifing Rudd” bullshit was put firmly back in it’s box.
Rudd was removed because Rudd was incompetent. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. I’ll repeat it.. Rudd was removed because Rudd was incompetent.
Imagine, if you will, that this country is a corporation competing in an open market, providing diverse goods and services to an even more diverse customer base. This corporation has a one trillion dollar annual turnover. This corporation has to provide its own armed security, pensions and health care for all its people and operate in such a way as to engender respect and trust in the broader worldwide community. while ensuring that all are fed, watered, housed and safe.
This company cannot afford the weakness of ego fulfilment from its CEO. Neither can it afford the paralysis of indecision and politically advised paranoia. The governance of the company demands maturity, strength, courage and the ability to understand that the future is intrinsicly linked to the decisions of today.
Kevin Rudd had his chance to write history. He had his chance to listen to those who would tell him he was wearing no clothes. He chose not to listen. He chose the history.
Kevin Rudd was not “knifed”. Kevin Rudds ego delivered him to the petard of his incompetence. He chose to climb the stairs.
Hey vic you can edit your post and delete the correction.
PB has turned into the Menzie’s House intranet, so thought I wander over ‘ere for some reasoned thought and discussion.
Might seem so to you at the moment but thats unlikely. Ten years is a long time and LNP after being out of power so long are bound to stuff up.
Who knows what may emerge *legally* to *Cut n Run* Campbell.
Also if stuff emerges on the record that Rudd betrayed his own party after he got the FA job, it should give people pause for thought.
Also I think your post on PB about people in other states looking down on Queenslanders is not correct. I certainly don’t and no one else I know here in Sydney even begins to think like that.
Of course you seem to have made your mind up and thats probably it. You are wRONg never the less.
No political party is out of office for X years.
Any of them can fuck up in so many ways – just ask Mr O’Farrell.
You are wRONg never the less.
Time will tell
j6p
Good to see you here. Enjoy the peace
hey joep6, i thought you are friend of truthie, no?
Kevin Rudd overheard in the QANTAS Loo
I hope rudd wins , just to stick it up a few elitiest wankers, especially feeney and abirb and bitar
hey joep6, i thought you are friend of truthie, no?
I am Spartacus.
Rudd cannot win.
It doesn’t require anytime about other states looking down on Queenslanders.
It is not correct, its just wRONg -
j6p,
Shame about Q’ld. I think there is still a chip on the shoulders of Q’landers that is the remnant of Joh Bjelke’s long hold on power. Q copped a lot of angst from other states for years afterwards over Joh and they are probably still smarting……I hope Q are not going to make the same mistake over Rudd the traitorous one.

How do I do the correction?
Victoria,
re Crean/toolman interview. Crean got to say his piece – Toolman had a go at interrupting once but Crean didn’t draw breath long enough. :)

Thanks guys. I hhad already tried that previously. I am on an ipad, and no box appears
LOL at Hinch:
Friggin propriety software.
Hey all
Long time lurker (4 years) at the other place, but jayzus has it gone to the dogs! Given up wading through the shit to glean the insightful comments of Bushfire Bill, George, Ruawake…et al. At least this site cuts through the chaff. I guess William Bowe’s idea of how he now wants his blog to be is not the insightful, robust, thought-provoking blog that I enjoyed for all those years. Whatever, I hope this blog captures that spirit and I congratulate Frank on creating it.
I am not short of opinions and hope to freely express them here, rather than merely lurk as I did at the other place.
I’m on an iPad and I get the edit/delete option…?
Test: yes it works.
It appears on my iPad – maybe you were not logged in Victoria
Itep
I just tried again. Do i have to click on “open new page”?
I’m am on android (ICS) (plus desktop) and I get the edit/delete option.
my android very slow , why would that be, you dont see the word u type till well after u finish
What a load of BS:
Victoria, I think you just press edit, then a window pops up, you edit your content and click “update”.
Sorry for all the OT banter. (Dave I have thought about going to the transformer prime too but I really like having the option of 3G built in for overseas travel).
ji jack welcome home
Watching Rudd’s presser today I was struck by the similarities to Abbott, both in content and approach. Seems to me Bruce Hawker has gone to school on Credlin-Loughane Politic 101 and ripped it to Rudd’s hard drive. Who says you can’t polish a turd!
yes itep thats what happen here
At the other place.
Uhlmann and Crean on 7.5 very instructive. Uhlmann looked like at a stunned mullet when Crean pressed home the point about Rudd leaking to journalists. I almost felt sorry for Uhlmann such was his obvious pain and discomfort. It was a quite delicious ‘Gotcha’ moment. The other three journalists who regurgitated Rudd’s bile would be well advised to steer well clear of Crean. He has your measure and you are in his line of sight. I predict one of them may well crack in the next few days….now that would interesting….
Is Crean suggesting Toolman was one of the journos, or was it a pointed comment for Toolman’s colleagues?
jack i think they have the same personalities. but one is more bogan type or prerends to be,
i dont think u wouod see rudd kiss fish
ltep – yep 3G would have been nice. But easily fixed.
