Final Call: PM Gillard 77 Rudd 25

No bull, no guessing – we are the Dolphins – The Finnigans (The beautiful photos were done by @GeorgeBludger) - Michelle Rowland will not vote tomorrow, so the total will be: 102, not 103.

Our final count of the publicly declared support: PM Gillard 61 Rudd 19 with 22 Known Unknown. The question is how will the Unknowns break. Sportsbet is reporting the odds of PM Gillard $1.11 Rudd $6.25. Based on that we took the conservative approach and say the Unknowns will be break 70:30 to PM Gillard’s favour. This will give PM Gillard additional 16 votes to 77 and Rudd 6 votes to 25. That is our final call: 77 to 25

  1. Ha!
There is a letter in today’s Smh from Vivienne Parsons of Thornleigh.
You will never guess but it is in praise of Rudd

  2. my say

Which post on PB are you referring to re. Andrew. not sure what you mean?

  3. I see that Bruce Hawker is talking FACTIONNNNNSSSS. Oh dear he knows he has lost.

  4. i wouldlove to see them ll disendorsed’include  albanese.   . i have wrien to all tasmanians on the rudd list including the two senators to let them know they have lost’our vote,

one of those senators i handed out how to vote cards for  , have told her to take me off’her’list

  5. OC

Seriously That person is more unhinged than Rudd himself!!!

  6. Victoria you and Kohler have got it all wrong. The independents agreement is between them and JG.
Bemused told me this – anyone who says the opposite is wrong

  7. i wouldlove to see them ll disendorsed’include  albanese.   . i have wrien to all tasmanians on the rudd list including the two senators to let them know they have lost’our vote,

  8. My say

Albanese has explained his reasons. They felt like a kick in the guts at first, but having said that Albo will continue to work as hard as ever. He has been instrumental in the govt success to date in passimg legislation. I am giving Albo the benefit of the doubt. Rudd not so much!!!!

  9. victoria  no 45 the piece by kohler’.'it’would’give ‘pb a look at another polster.

  10. OC@6

The drivel from that poster has been ridiculous. No matter how many times we said that Rudd resuming the leadership would ensure the fall of the govt, this poster vehemently disagreed.

  11. rudd    i never ever want  to hear his name again name ever again,, i hope he leaves

  12. My say

dave has already posted the Kohler piece on PB.

  13. how could albanese  say that when by voting to rudd he is working gainst julia.. no’time’for  him either’

  14. My say

I only ask that you wait and see how Albo behaves from now on

  15. Anyhow, we are finally getting some rain in Melbourne after a very dry few months. It is refreshing to say the least.

  16. thats  why i want bemused to to readt.  it  and mr bowe

  17. My say,

Rather than rail at those Labor Rudd supporters, maybe it would be better if you told them that when Labor wins the 2013 election, you will expect a personal apology from them for being so obtuse as to support a dysfunctional media star rather than a PM who has worked with the Labor team to implement policies for the benefit of Australians – The Guillard Government’s achievements are nothing short of amazing.

  18. janice

Good point. Although I cannot see the media giving Julia clean air. I do wonder if they will draw their attention to Abbott now. Despite The chaos in Labor this week, their primary vote as per newspoll is 35, which surprises me greatly. I was expecting it to nosedive.

  19. i still c,annot get my head around  ,any one votting for rudd.  , and all this weeks revelations, makes  it even harder  rto understand

  20. Good morning Janice and all

    http://whatthepeoplewant.net/polls-blog/february-2012/qpeople-powerq-falters.html

The results from the What Peope Want email poll.

Interestingly but not suprisingly the voters most in favour of Kevin Rudd are Libs and 15-24 year olds. 66% for Rudd.

    The summation

I have completed analysis of the qualitative data using Leximancer software.

    1. The discussion is all about Kevin Rudd, it is not about Julia Gillard. While she is the favoured candidate of the engaged he is the celebrity with 100% connectivity.
    2. Those favouring Kevin Rudd are focussed outward, believing he is the best chance to beat Tony Abbott and that he provides leadership and vision.
    3. Those favouring Julia Gillard are focused inward and are concerned about the management of government, having a cohesive team and the role of the media.
    4. Those favouring neither cite concerns about the country in general, that the argument is about power and that neither candidate can be trusted.
  21. My say

I have posted the Kohler piece in full over at PB

  22. janice  you may  be  right of course  but  i dot do dis loyalty   easily,  i would prefer new candiidates  that look to our future,

    not the past,  ,

  23. missadventure  thans you,  ..

  24. Pleasure My Say

  25. victoria  it will be fun tosee if  kohlers piece is  commented  on  and  by who  over there

  26. My say,

I understand how you are feeling and like you, it sticks in my craw when there is disloyalty and sometimes, downright stupidity.  However, come the election at least some of those who’ve supported Rudd may well suffer a voter backlash because of the reasons they gave for countenancing the Rudd push.  Albo, on the other hand, is unlikely to suffer this same backlash because it was clear the decision he made tore him to pieces.  Carr and McClelland and Doogie are down in the pits so far as I’m concerned.

  27. this from Puffy at the other place

Talcum is on abcnews24 banging on as you would expect. Tony is going move a no-confidence motion, and wants the Indies to support it. Well. knock me over and steal my shoes, who would’ve thought it.

  28. I haven’t read the full kohler article but I guess what he is saying is that the Gov Gen would request Gillard to stay in herost until Rudd provided her with evidence of having the support of the House. This would cause a melt down for Alan Jones, Hadley et al who already claim the GG is compromisedby herson-in-law

  29. OC

The Kohler piece is on the previous page. Worth a read

  30. but  albanesese   being leader of the  house  it seems will copflak  everyti e  he stand there  to defend  the  PM he simp,y cannot have it bothways,  .’

i fou d his decision particulaly a bad look and unfortunate considering his position,,, pyne will have a field day  and so he should

  31. My Say Albo is voting that way because of some left sub-faction power play which I do not understand but in the end is irrelavent

@Pollytics Poss, havent you just shoot yourself in the foot. Last night you said, along side Bilbo, that Rudd brought the extra “surge”
    In reply to Possum Comitatus

  33. He he he Poss has been caught out

  34. Finny,

    ??

  35. TLM is going spare over at PB. His language is getting more vulgar by the minute

  36. Some of TLMs post late at night are particularly misogynist. I have a theory that he is a born again Christian or perhaps a Mormon who is appalled that the country is led by a single atheist woman who does “mr naughty” with a man she is not married to.

  37. OC

Really? He sounds unhinged to me. People like him give Christians a bad name

  38. oakshott cou try.  wondered about  this, but for the ordinary person  looking on,   everythime he defends the pm in Qt  it looks  very   two faced

he simply cannot have botbways,  heshould resign the position today.    funny though the mercury had him in tne  unannounced colomn

  39. Evan just said on PB that Rudd is going to quit politics. Not sure if it is further unhinging from evan or Rudd. . Could be the same person!!!!!

  40. read   aquire   ,    on pb  re ulman    unless u’have interviewed  every single  mp  how  would’u know

  41. i see allan  kohler  cannot work albanese  either

  42. TLM hasn’t yet grown out of short pants.  If I remember correctly, when he used to post as Evan he said he was in his twenties and single.  Of course, whether you can believe that is another thing.  However, he comes across to me as very immature and is still one who would be a rabid member of a fan club so I wouldn’t be surprised to find that he is still in high school.

  43. My say

That is why I say to you let us wait and see how Albo conducts himself from now on

  44. janice

No one in high school would be bothered with politics in this way. There are countless better things to be doing when you are a teenager and being the head of the Rudd fan club is not one of them. I doubt evan supports the ALP

  45. Mark Furner has dumped Rudd.

  46. ruawake

    Any reasons given?

  47. really  isent him  a very long email last night  not saying its  me  of course  but,  perhhaps he had a lot

  48. vic  its not how he conducts  himself,  i think he is honourable  re his  job,  but the opp will play on iy  if slipper lets hom

  49. Any reasons given?

    Self preservation?

Is there nothing this man won’t steal?  Well, apart from the leadership.
