are you saying i’m being twee?

  4. so, tell me what happens if I accidentally am critical of something ALP

    Is it automatic sin-binning?

or like I did today, saw the cleverness (and spite) in TA’s ‘if you stop the boats you stop the smokes’ line – would that be considered pro-LNP?

  5. kezza

    gd point

but its the intent – not the words

we aim to be pro labor

sometimes even pro labor from a far left type thingy stuff

but we aint going to cop any bullstein from false flaggers or concern trolls

  6. Been looking for something like this for a long time. Pity there’s no lefty radio station to counteract all the righty ones.

  7. Further

    at times we want argument

    but FRANK and factual arguement

    NB

    no watercresses here

  8. Greetings all. About bl00dy time you started your own blog Frank. Great name for it as well.

Here’s hoping we can plot the downfall of the “fargin barstiches” (thanks gus) free from the trolling from said “barstiches” on “that other site”.

  9. Hi marian

u iz a truly welcome guest

feel free to say what u want

  10. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone and good to have you onboard – it is interesting to note that those with vested interesst in pushing a media friendly media are fiinally showing their true colours – as some have observed today.

And I wonder if Their ABC commissioned Newspoll to do the polling ? If so no wonder it gives thm the result it was after – considering how “Normal” Newspolls are reported.

  11. hola dan

the primates will take over the world

    well at least the blogosphere

  12. frank

i just wish fate hadnt taken away one of our best ‘insider”

  13. here’s my theory re tony abbott

    he’s smart but not intelligent
    doesn’t think on his feet
it goes without saying, for me at least, that he wouldn’t be where he is without the msm on his side.

but, the thing is, I keep harking back to the budget reply speech.
it was reported that he was seen in a huddle with execs?/senior journos from the Daily Tele.

I worked in newspapers for quite a while and there is one thing I know and that’s there are very very good wordmeisters employed. I can’t help but think that one of Murdoch’s minions is moonlighting or ghosting Abbott’s lines. The Libs just aren’t that good.

See the stuff-ups prior to then? One goodish day followed by a bad. Now, it’s too measured. Sure it’s the slogans but there’s something else going on.

The LNP was pretty well snookered on the AS issue by the ALP offshore processing policy. Julia Gillard didn’t blink. Boats were turning up but no fierce reportage. It had sunk like a stone. Then up pops Abbott today with the boat/smoke line.

From Latika Bourke’s tweet, he winked and then grinned for 10 seconds. He knew it was a sly joke. To me, that line came from a very smart sub-editor. I’d say someone who was also into music because of the type of rhyme. And it’s no LNP stuff either. I’d love to dig up who’s on Murdoch’s payroll helping TA.

And PvO’s been sucked in too. He thinks he’s fair and balanced. He claims that he’s never once been told what to write. He was even a bit apprehensive going into editorial meetings. God, they’ve done him over like a dinner. He was only allowed to see what they wanted him to see. He wouldn’t even have realised that he’d been told what to write. I can see them now, glad-handing him and him leaving with the impression he’s got a free rein.

My ex-boss writes a column for The Australian.

  14. Some interesting figures from that Neewspoll on the ABC/other media.

Can’t argue that the ABC, despite its many faults these days, is still head and shoulders above the rest of the pack

I wonder if there was any similar polls done on this in the past, and how they compare with those in the recent poll.

  15. thanks all

65 posts is a nice start
    :)

  16. where are the numbers?

  17. Sheiser, it seems I’m as dyslexic here as I am on “the other site” Meant to say Newspoll, not Neewspoll

Just gave a heads up to my Tweeps about this site, so we’ll see how many people we can attract.

  18. kezza

frank linked to @ghostwhovotes a bit earlier

    full tables there

tho frank may post em in full

  19. gussy

i meant the numbers on the posts. it’s a bit difficult to refer to another post without a number showing. Or is that just my browser setting?

sides which I’m bluddy well polled out.
couldn’t give a stuff if i never saw one again till the real one, next election.

  20. Kezza,

I’m slowly working my way through wordpressc and at present cannot find the feature to turn on the post numbers – though I believe it isn’t a feature – the other mob use a Bastardised version of wordpress.
As for publishing the full results – What all 43 pages of them ? :-)

  21. Ok, just renabled the reply feature so you can reply under the person’s post.

  22. That is an interesting thought, kezza, that TA might be getting his lines via LimitedNews. In terms of efficiency it is almost elegant.
    Puffy.

  23. kezza

    in the interim

    we iz flying blind

    (expect a few hiccups)

  24. But at least we don’t have to rely on a gerbil to drive the blog – wordpress is very reliable :-)

  25. kezza2 says:04/10/2011 at 8:22 PM
    kezza,
you can also just copy the header with the date and time

  26. puff

kezza has hilighted the elephant in the room

JG faces not just a feral conga line line of harpies

but the harpies are embedded in the budgie smugglers

Its why abbott always looks ricketty
    ;)

  27. Just loke Colin Barnett’s Spin Dept is run by Staff from Ch 9 Perth – in particular former Newsreader Dixie Marshall – whose Father Arthur served wityh Barnett under Richard Court.

  28. Is there anyway we can find out if someone has replied to an earlier post without scrolling back?

  29. puff

    sadly, no

like all blogs it has its limits

tho a quick scroll back will fix that

ps we aim to have pages enabled soon
    :)

  30. Unfortunately No at the moment – once Finns & Ruawake get on board I’ll ask them to fine tune under the hood so to speak. It will be a long and slow process to get this place running to my liking.

  31. Thanks for the great new forum Frank and Gussy

    Hi Puff, Dan et al

Gotta go, the kids are home and demanding the computer.
We only have one now as the other one’s power supply blew up and is at the panel beaters as we speak.

    Check you all tomorrow,

  32. PS

once we get ru etc on the job, I expect the glitches to be well, glitched

  33. kezza

    nite

btw our old tower just decided to stop

we iz running as a single laptop household too

    Oh the humanity

It is a shame what has happened to the Liberal Party. I wouldn’t mind lining up against them on election day and losing, if it didn’t mean that these far-right lunatics would get their hands on the reins of power and proceed to wreck the place for decades to come.

I prefer the rolling conversation style.
    Puffy.

  36. If I can be of any help with the techy stuff, ask away.

In the real world I run and manage a portfolio of sites for a range of smallbiz clients, and use WordPress exclusively. Although they are all customized/bastardized versions, hosted on private servers (like “the other place”), I know my way around a lot of its quirks. So if I can be of help, holler out.

  37. puff

    so true

we must do our best to bolster JG

the fibs arenbt fit to wear menzies nappies

    let alone his ideals

If they won fairly and squarely, on their own merits, in a fair race, I’d grudgingly concede that the better side won. However, while the bad guys have got the media onside, Labor runs with a massive handicap. As a result it’s simply not possible for the Liberals to “win” fairly and squarely, regardless of what the figures might look like on election day.

They are not worth the fill of the nappies that Menzies wore, let alone the water they were washed in.

The Larvatus Prodeo bloggers have disappeared up their university-tenured fundamental apertures. They are a disgrace to the Progressive side of politics and I refuse to grace them with my presence. Just more casual misogyny about our first female Prime Minister, and an acceptance of the anti-Gillard hype being pedalled opportunistically by The Greens and the Coalition about a woman giving the job a red hot go & struggling (wo)manfully against the odds.
They snipe from the area where the far Left, in it’s most conservative iteration, meets the far Right, which is also very set in it’s ways. They wouldn’t know a truly pragmatic politician and expert negotiator, for the best outcome under the circumstances, if their lives depended on it.

Ironically that post was made on a blog we once called home.
Will those left behind take notice ?
